Strategic Marketing MBA Intern | Acclarent | Menlo Park, CA
Job Summary:
Marketing professional who can own the launch cycle of a product,
conduct market research (including regulatory & reimbursement), accumulate
competitive intelligence, evaluate pricing and product positioning, and
perform related activities needed to support a comprehensive market strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identifies trends in practice for both ENT and referring physicians,
technology, regulatory pathways, and patient behavior.
- Develops, analyzes and maintains competitive profiles for products and
companies including literature resources.
- Conducts research to define market needs (includes interfacing with
hospital personnel, surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives; surgical
observation; and literature review) to affirm product success including pricing,
positioning, performance and packaging.
- Works to develop detailed financial models to justify programs and
projects.
- Creates marketing campaigns to support the brand and lead sales
performance.
- Develops short-term product promotion strategies.
- Creates dynamic selling tools for support of sales performance.
- Builds strong relationships with customers to ensure brand awareness.
- Develops marketing communications materials and promotional items
(sell sheets, brochures, give-aways, press releases, and training materials)
for assigned products.
- Distributes updates on products, the market, and competitive
activities.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Successful experience in marketing/sales position, preferably in
medical
device industry.
- Analytical skills in business, pricing, forecasting and P&L.
- Strong communication skills (written, group presentations, etc.).
- Ability to work closely with the Field Sales.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing,
clinical, reimbursement) and external customer groups (physicians, nurses,
hospital administrators).
- Ability to develop and maintain a physician network, as well as
related support activities (educational events, meetings & etc.).
- Reflect leadership potential for further promotional &
responsibility growth.
- 30% travel required.
- Will report into Director, Marketing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A basic understanding of sinus disease and treatments is an advantage.
