currently have the following position available:
The role of the VP of Customer Strategy is to create and
execute research approaches and methodologies which will infuse consumer
and competitive insights into Burlington Coat Factory's Five Strategic
Principles approach, substantiate and support strategic marketing
communications proposals and campaigns and measure consumer outcomes.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- Provide relevant, timely and thought provoking trend and competitive
insight information in the spirits/beer/wine category to both internal
and external stakeholders
- Immersion in the client category, becoming
experts in the client competitive and industry landscape and into the
behaviors and psychographics of the target consumer
- Provide insights
to develop and recommend communications strategies and creative ideas
- Work collaboratively on strategy development
- Work closely
with account teams to ensure that research results and recommendations
are integrated into client marketing plans
- Incorporate findings and
insights into research deliverables and proposals
- Develop and
recommend new research methodologies and sources
- Recommend, develop
and execute thought leadership research
- Develop survey proposals,
manage questionnaire design and reporting for surveys used for public
release
- Manage qualitative and quantitative research
- Utilize all
secondary research tools to identify current and emerging consumer
trends
- Participate in client strategy meetings and presentations

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Must have a proven track record of conducting research,
analyzing/synthesizing results, and integrating specific, actionable
insights into client programs and proposals
- Bachelor's degree in
business or marketing
- Must have 5-7 years experience in consumer
research with public relations, advertising or marketing agency, or in a
media company (PR agency experience strongly preferred)
- Currently in
a Senior Customer Strategy, Associate Customer Strategy Director or
Customer Strategy Director role
- Specific experience and interest
working in the spirits, wine and beer sector is a requisite

Experience in current or previous roles working under the structure of
Brand Planning discipline
- Experience working closely with account
teams to ensure that research results and recommendations are factored
into client communications plans
- Superior verbal and written
communications skills, particularly in translating insights into
recommendations for marketing communications programs
- Excellent
presentation skills and experience presenting consumer insights and
communication plans to existing clients and new business prospects

Experience developing and recommending new research methodologies

Hands-on experience moderating consumer focus groups preferred

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Foreign
language skills and/or advanced degree are a plus
