Project Mgr, Marketing Research | Prudential | Newark, NJ
The Market Research Manager will be assigned to the Group Insurance business to provide expert management and support on a broad range of research projects, including: product and market opportunity assessment, positioning and marketing communications, competitive landscape, service quality/operations, and customer needs and satisfaction. The Manager works as part of a team and is responsible for the implementation of important projects or components of the most complex projects. The Manager runs specific projects from start to finish providing the day-to-day hands-on supervision and development. Responsibilities: 1. Communicate with clients to provide updates on progress of the research and to identify any issues. Responsible for creating the work-plans and updating changes. 2. Manage acquisition of the sample, protecting confidentiality, and handling requirements for vendor contracts 3. Design or assist in the design of research questionnaires and moderator guides. 4. Work with Project Directors to oversee the fieldwork initiatives and review data quality 5. Expert at programming electronic surveys, manipulating data sets in Excel and other analytical software formats to create data tabs (banners) & tables 6. Formulate analyses plans, specifies cross-tab plans, and develop PowerPoint charts 7. Interpret data, drafts full reports, and makes initial recommendations
Requirements: · A minimum of 5 to 7 years within the custom Market Research industry · 1 to 3 years of industry/sector or vendor experience preferred · Academic and practical experience with a wide array of new product, brand, advertising and customer satisfaction research methodologies · Exceptional data management and project organizational skills · Strong analytic skills with experience in cross-tab planning and analyses · Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, survey software tools and SPSS/SAS · Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences Competencies Required: · Highly detail-oriented multi-tasker with excellent project planning & management skills. · Strong knowledge of research & data analysis techniques · Inquisitive, enjoy learning new information and processes · Highly motivated to enhance own knowledge of business and applying research to business issues · Ability to consistently improve processes and solutions · Comfortable working with others, demonstrates enthusiasm and creativity
