Director, Compensation | Prudential | Newark, NJ
Corporate Compensation is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining reward plans and practices, including salary, annual incentive and long-term incentive programs in order to attract, retain and motivate talent in the enterprise. This position is responsible for compensation relationship management for one or more segments/client groups. The incumbent consults with HR staff and management in developing and administering compensation solutions that support the business strategy. Specific Responsibilities Include: - Work with local HR staff and management to develop compensation philosophies and practices that support a strong pay for performance environment.
- Provide custom reports and analyses to clients to ensure compensation programs align with the business strategy and are market competitive.
- Act as an internal consultant in the design and implementation of sales compensation programs. Partner with sales management, human resources, marketing and finance to develop and monitor sales programs that drive business results.
- Participate in market surveys and the analysis of survey results to ensure compensation programs remain externally competitive.
- Provide on-going compensation consulting services such as job evaluation, external market pricing and policy interpretation. Makes recommendations on pay decisions to maintain internal equity, external competitiveness and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Participate on enterprise wide compensation projects.
- Manage the year end compensation process for assigned clients, including salary, annual incentive and equity awards.
- Participate on the client HR strategic leadership teams.
- Conduct training and education on compensation programs for clients as needed.

Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelors degree in a related field required. Masters preferred
- 5+ years of compensation design and consulting; 7+ years general business experience
- 3+ years of sales compensation design or administration is required
- Advanced MS Excel skills. Proficient in MS Word, Power Point, and MS ACCESS.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Business Objects a plus
- Accuracy and attention to detail is critical
- Strong analytical ability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
- Proven partnering, communication, and influencing skills
- Certified Compensation Professional designation desirable
